Ken Navarro - When Night Calls |
Melody is the leading ingredient that makes some instrumental songs more enjoyable than others. Simple, but true, right? Ken Navarro continues to write and record strong melodies. When Night Calls is a concept album in mood, taking the listener from the start of an evening all the way through to the sunrise. The melodies and the musicianship make it worth spending many nights with this CD.

| Ken Navarro - Smooth Sensation |
| "On this album, I play the acoustic nylon string guitar exclusively," explains Ken Navarro about his 9th release Smooth Sensation. "It gives the album a very warm feel and voice." Whether relaxing alone at home or entertaining friends, this album is Navarro at his smoothest, with plenty of his trademark improvisations as well. Saxophonist Eric Marienthal is featured on a number of songs. The title song, "Smooth Sensation", and the 3rd cut "I'll Tell You What" are very nice, but the favorite is the last track which is an instrumental cover of Sade's "Kiss of Life." Says Navarro, "I think it is one of the best things I have ever done!" |
